This would not be the type of news (or at least much of it below) if this were a live site. News would not be taken directly from other companies websites news either.

A new dynamic group has been formed to get this facility up and running again along with putting Sunderland firmly back on the maritime map, with repair, refits, servicing, conversion, contribution to being a partner in renewables, contribution to shipbuilding projects and for future full assembly and shipbuilding at the New Pallion facility.

It is mentioned in the above news link that the FSSS would need to have international help. Be this in people and facilities is not made clear, but both do not make sense as a contract like this should give the catalyst and spur for UK shipbuilding expansion and capability with investment. There is capacity in people and other facilities in the UK that are being overlooked, as we know.

It is now clear that BAE will not build the New Pallion like ship factory at Scotstoun.

https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5802/cmselect/cmdfence/168/report.html.
"We're going to need a bigger Navy"

Rather than addressing the issues of killing a Great White Shark, this report highlights the UK 's issue in her shipbuilding sector which is weighted heavily on and over reliant on warship building, the speed they are produced and shortage of skills. Rather than being a millstone around UK shipbuilding, the Fleet Solid Support Ships provide a opportunity to bring in other facilities and promote shipbuilding as a modern tech sector with the traditional skills integrated within.

Much of this report has Pallion written all over it, as the solution in being a partner with the MoD as UK industry was once envisioned as being until scrapped by a highly paid government official some years ago A T? Pallion can therefore, grow, invest in people and facilities for future UK projects UK taxpayer funded military and non military and most of all, commercial. We, as all UK industry need, is belief from it's own Country and government with a long term strategy and goal.

The recruitment of peop!e to becoming skilled in both practical and digital and tech ship related maritime industries needs to be placed in a TV advert by UK shipyards with the areas involved and glamorised.

This strategy sets out a thirty year outlook in which many ships will be required just by UK taxpayer projects alone. Judging by our past 20 years performance, having increased capacity would be needed, be it for servicing, maintenance, refit, being part of a rebuild project or a complete project, be it maritime and general big heavy engineering projects. Pallion is the place for this.

Pallion are pleased to announce that from it's wide range of abilities in different engineering sectors which protects us from cyclical periods in each sector, we can announce our accreditation in making movies. So our welding operatives can literally go from the welding department to the wardrobe department when needed. This makes Pallion shipyard the most versatile shipyard on the planet. The only accreditation we seek now is the ability to carry out projects in the field of nuclear power.
